What is Time?
Seeing that I have not posted since a month and few days ago, I felt it was appropriate to do an entry about one of the most interesting subjects known to mankind….TIME.
What is Time? Why does it exist? These questions and many more have come to mind more than once, an always fascinating subject that I can spend, well, time on discussing time. Now time to most people now a days means money, but does it? I mean let’s look at examples of time. It takes 9 months for a human baby to form. The time from last I posted to now was approximately one month and few days. I could go on forever but you see where I am going. Time holds us together. It strings the events and experiences of our lives which we experience every second. We could say we are like seeds, being planted at one point in time and over time growing into a tree.
So how do we spend time if the majority equate it to money? And does it have any relation to what is going on economically with the world? Is time = money the twisted reality that holds majority of us in a consumer state of mind and in effect slaves of our own system?
How many of us put our effort and energies into creations that we don’t truly love? It is the difference between the burger cook at McDonalds and the Mother who lovingly cooks for her family. And we all know how mom’s cooking is the best. Why is it the best? Because there is love in it. For the sake of money, we have created jobs that solely exist to push numbers to sustain society, and with that we have created with no love and no respect. From that view we have turned ourselves into something that needs “improvement”. Living in LA I can tell you that the love for oneself is highly lacking here. So we spend all this time and energy working at places and projects that most don’t love, just to have enough digits to consume things most likely made by people who aren’t loving their creations fully either. So the cycle continues viciously. With media shows and constant life events amusing us daily, it becomes a labryinth to have an original thought and to be still, to step out of “time”.
It is funny how time has been on mankind’s mind since the beginning. We have spent more civilizations with a fascination with time than anything else in the world. Rulers, pharoahs, dynasties. All of these were based on how long a “rule” was. And funny that they are called Rulers. What do they rule? What do they measure? Why is it so important? More questions that could dig deeper, but getting back with time…
Many are going to hear about a particular time in our future, 2012 for the first time. It will be introduced to majority of the masses through the upcoming movie “2012”. I personally have been hearing about it since I was 10, and always found some info about it along the way, majority of it around 2006 and present as information expanded. So why is it such a big buzz in the first place? I know from my own truths that hearing about made me fascinated with the posibilities of what may happen. And you know what, maybe it is just from the love of hearing a good story. Like one of those books where you pick what page to go to to change the story (old school, if you don’t remember, you don’t remember!). But in regards to time, many say that it will be a period of great change. And in many a way there has been movements towards that.
Is the Earth really an egg about to hatch us into a new existence? In regards to evolution, are our minds just a seed about to sprout to a new level? It has been my experience that growth has always come from a fire within or through without. Coals need pressure for millions of years (so they say) to create a diamond. Are we now at the point that pressure on all levels of humanity is so great that we are to be sharpened into a new being? Maybe if we see time as a countdown rather than counting up then it would make a lot more sense.
Time is something I know I will be discussing more about here, so for the mean time. Let me leave you with a link about time…
